Frequently Asked Questions

What is the starting age for Taekwondo?

Ascend Martial Arts offer a variety of classes for children ages 4 and up. We also have an adult class, so it’s never too late to join!

How does testing for a new belt work?

New belts are earned when a student has attended classes and properly displays knowledge of the required curriculum of their current level at the ranking belt promotion test. The belt tests are given in group settings and open to the public to spectate. We encourage family members to attend to cheer on their student and see how far they have come!

What should I expect before coming to a class?

At Ascend Taekwondo, we understand that starting a martial art, no matter what it is, to be daunting. You can expect our staff, athletes, and students to be inviting and helpful to serve your needs! Whether you’re new to martial arts, or coming back from a break, we are here to make sure our community is here for you!
